The light to my path
yesterday i said i was getting back on the path of doing somethings i needed to do but have lost track of. one of them is daily and consistent bible reading and study.
let's be honest, like me you have stopped reading your bible for days... or weeks... or even months... the consequences for this sometimes seem obvious, but other times they are not.
one of of the biggest problems of not being in in god's word is you forget who you are. understanding your identity is extremely important to the way you interact in life.
i read the book of ecclesiastes today. here is part that really stood out and made me stop and think for a moment. "there was a man all alone; he had neither son nor brother.
there was no end to his toil, yet his eyes were not content with his wealth.
“for whom am i toiling,” he asked, “and why am i depriving myself of enjoyment?”
this too is meaningless— a miserable business! two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
but pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. but how can one keep warm alone? though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
a cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
