Instagram is changing, ya’ll! actually, it’s been changing for a while, but have you noticed a significant decrease in engagement over the last few weeks? 🙋🏾♀️😫 not gonna lie, it’s becoming more and more difficult to get your message in front of your followers if you’re using insta to promote your biz *cue sad trombone*
but this is not a “the sky is falling post”. i’m here to give you some strategy and hopefully a fresh perspective on how you can continue to use insta to connect with your dream clients!
first, let’s start with gratitude : ig is still poppin! and as beauty pros, we’re at huge advantage because our clients actually use ig to specifically search for beauty services! that’s not true for every industry, and for that, i’m grateful! 🙌🏾
so, instead of focusing on your post-by-post engagement, i want you to focus on the long game! if your clients are using insta as a search engine to find beauty services, your job is to make sure that your page is in all of the places she might be looking for you! that means getting strategic about your hashtags, and being consistent with your posts! think like the client you want to attract! if you were looking for a mua in your area, what hts would you use? and what time would you be on ig looking? (before work? during lunch? late at night?) thats when you want to post!
next, ig is not a direct input/output situation anymore (meaning i put up one post, i book one client). ig is a tool that you should be using to introduce people to your brand and build trust over time. so, when a client discovers you in a ht and comes back to your page, are you giving her a reason to fall in love with what you do above and beyond just the makeup? are you giving her a sense of your purpose, what you believe in, who you are as a person, and what the full experience of working with you would feel like? are you giving her exciting, helpful, thoughtful content to look forward to and keep coming back to? if you need a refresher on this, scroll a few posts back and read my caption about purpose. the way to win on ig *now* is to use it to give your clients a deeper experience with you.
