Mixed feelings about this, but can't say we're surprised. visiting @barneysny
was part of our early fashion education in new york city. waiting for the new seasons to drop and being able to see, touch, and examine runway designs from around the world was always a highlight, but we've also had some of the most annoying retail experiences there lol. our advice to barney's? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
•teach your sales associates to not be lazy and tell you a brand doesn't make your size, only for you to go and find it hanging on the rack yourself.
•don't leave your customers waiting in the fitting room for help while the sales associates chat up a storm with each other.
•telling a customer everything looks cute on you is not the way to engender trust.
•we're not impressed with sales associates calling out the brands we happen to be wearing while shopping... it's invasive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
and obviously, we hope the racial profiling has been nipped in the bud at this point. this is not to say that great sales associates don't exist, but for every great one, theres at least a couple sucky ones lol. here's a chance to discuss both the positives and negatives of brick and mortar retail shopping. dieters, what are your experiences, at barney's or otherwise? and what would you like to see changed in the retail experience?
