A snowy morning surprise awaited @pecan_s
during a recent stay at pumphouse point, a boutique hotel located about 2.5 hours' drive north-west of @hobartandbeyond.
the three-story pumphouse is located at the end of a 250-metre flume and seemingly floats on the glassy waters of lake st clair. built in 1930 as part of the tasmanian hydro-electric power scheme, the pumphouse was once home to massive water turbines. these days it's home to 12 rooms that boast arguably tasmania's most breathtaking wilderness views, and a communal fireplace setting that has to be seen to be believed! (there are also six land-based rooms in the 'shorehouse' which aren't too shabby either!) thanks for tagging #discovertasmania, pecan_s.
