in this drawing i used a white charcoal pencil instead of a pen as another method of highlighting. this worked well by laying a base of the white down than drawing around the base highlight. the white charcoal was also very effective to highlight over black marker. this was a peach since white pen ink chipped away easily and regular white coloured pencil turned grey. the downside to the white charcoal is it wouldn't appear when drawn over an area of coloured pencil and it mixed with graphite thus turning the area into a muddy grey.
