I’d love to hear from all of you, which do you prefer? They both have huge benefits and it’s easy to say you should do them both. Which exercise do you like doing more though and why?

I prefer deadlifts over squats just for the sheer feeling of pulling a whole bunch of weight and feeling like the man. It makes me feel good. Squats on the other hand, I could never do them and be happy however, I never skip them.

Legs are important to train. The strength of your base directly correlates with your upper body. It’s what grounds you and stabilizes you. If you don’t train legs then go do it! Plus nobody likes an upside down pyramid lol.

I promise you’ll surprise yourself and not all parts of your fitness journey will take as long as building significant muscle. You can lose body fat and your blood markers can improve! As well as your cardiovascular and strength(sometimes)! -

🔸Overhead squat  with small bunny hops. The easiest progression would be to add more weight, if you want to also work on your shoulder mobility then you can bring your hands in a bit more narrow.

🔸This is hugely beneficial drill to anyone suffering with poor depth in the squat.

🔸Keep those hips healthy and mobile!

The word “intent” has been used quite bit more over the pay couple years and for good reason. However, it’s important to review why lifting with intent has benefits. .
.
1) your brain is the organizer of movement. Unless it’s reflexive, intent comes what we call “central drive”. This kind of like the amount of effort the brain puts into sending signals to your muscles to work. .
.
2) With a large central drive from maximal intent, the bigger motor units “higher threshold motor units” are recruited. These contain the larger type 2 fibers and are responsible for powerful movements. .
.
3) once we activate these motor units there is a belief that activation “recruitment” becomes easier. Now, this ease of recruitment might be neurological (something occurring to the motor units themselves) or some central in the brain where it becomes easier to have more intent and “central drive”

Uden tvivl min dårligste præstation nogensinde. Men med en forholdsvis lang skadespause, og en opkøring som ikke har kørt specielt godt, så er jeg egentlig okay tilfreds. Vil selv sige, at jeg er tilbage.

Squat: 160 kg (10 kg under min pr)

Bænkpres: 90 kg (2,5 kg under min pr)

Dødløft: 195 kg (5 kg pr)

Das Sorgenkind zuerst. Meine Beuge ist mein schwächster Lift. Umso mehr freue ich mich über die 130 kg. Der zweite Versuch fühlte sich schon sehr schwer an. Wieder viel zu viel nachgedacht beim beugen. Mein größtes Problem hierbei immer. Vor dem dritten hatte ich dann ein wenig Panik gar nicht hochzukommen. Unbegründet im Nachhinein. Die 130 kg beugten sich deutlich besser als die 125 kg. Vllt wären auch noch mehr gegangen an dem Tag aber die Freude über drei gültige Versuche und ein kleiner PR haben überwogen. Das Selbstbewusstsein für den restlichen Wettkampf war da.

Movement Prep and Big Lifts:

Yesterday, I completed Day 1 of #CompoundPerformance training program (created by @compoundperformance_ and @mattdomney). I’m quite sore writing this post, but my biggest takeaway from the workout was the movement prep.

The movement prep, or warmup, was very brief... in fact, it only took me one song to complete (“Just Friends” by Music Soulchild). I didn’t add any mobility, or corrective exercises. I used 4 efficient drills directed by deep breaths, and a focus on ribcage and pelvis positioning. I then completed one set of front squats before jumping into the rest of the workout.

Don’t get too creative with your training program... prioritize ribcage & pelvis alignment, and then crush the big lifts. I look forward to seeing where this program takes me, and how it aligns with my goals of achieving Beast Tamer.

First day back to squats after 3 weeks! 
Started new work hours and squats just weren't happening at the time hips were also always sore after the russian program! 
Back now 1st day back 120 kilo for a nice single 
Hit 2 sets of 3 with 100 and set of 10 with 60 
Also hit ham raises!
