A lot of you buyers have been on the fence, waiting to see what happens with this real estate market of ours. and now, i’m seeing some increased activity from buyers who are ready to jump in and take advantage of the “buyers market” we’re in.
what does it mean to be in a buyers market? in short, it means the ball is in your court. you have more negotiating power, and many of my buyers are now able to purchase properties they wouldn’t have been able to get 1-2 years ago!
for example, in a low rise building in brentwood (north burnaby) around this time last year, a 2 bedroom unit sold for $725,000 and had multiple offers. right now, similar units are sitting on the market for months and selling for around $600,000. that being said, of course not all properties are seeing this type of drop, it really depends on a huge variety of factors, but that’s where i come in 🙋🏻♀️
