This may be an unpopular opinion, but when people justify their traveling with statements like “traveling and life on the road isn’t as glamorous as it looks," it seems to bug me a little. when you look up the word, you’ll find that glamorous literally means beautiful, attractive, charming, full of excitement and adventure! i’d say that it’s glamorous—and that definition is the reasons that people long to travel and experience new things. however, i do understand that traveling can be hard, it’s not all luxury, and you have to make a lot of sacrifices, (all the things that are not shared in squares on social media). that statement is absolutely true. what’s also true is that anything worth while can be hard, inconvenient, and uncomfortable at times. we all make sacrifices and work hard for the things that are important to us. people who choose to put down roots and work to own a home, work just as hard and make just as many sacrifices as people who live on the road full-time—it just look differently. all this to say, there’s nothing to prove.
