Flow into the light.
this is a view from telluride. according to wiki this is the san miguel river which flows through box canyon and feeds bridal veil falls. i’m not really one for knowing or remember all the names of the rivers, lakes, valleys and mountains in the places i go. in fact i find a lot by simply just going to an area and exploring. i can manage to see in a map in my head to find my way back but don’t dare ask me to actually name the place. 🤷🏻♂️i take pictures of the signs, so that helps when the option is there. i’m usually on such a time crunch i’m go, go, go, trying to see everything and snap off a ton of photos. i’ve begun to learn a lesson about that though. for example this photo is from summer 2018 and i just got to editing it this winter. i never understood how photographers would so much time trying to get just one specific shot. but now i finally get it and understand. i understand being very intentional and planning a shot. i think it’s all part of the process though, you have to shoot thousands of photos before you really begin to understand how to be selective. and you’re so overwhelmed by the beauty of nature it takes discipline to not take a 100 photos. it’s funny how many times something will look so beautiful yet it just doesn’t make a good composition or photo that can do it any justice. at the same time the opposite can turn out to be true as well. i for one enjoy the activeness of hiking, climbing on rocks that it’s hard for me to slow down. i feel blessed that i have an eye for composition so i am able to quickly move around like this and still find pleasing images. this summer i’m going to slow down a bit. i’m going to try to produce better images and just enjoy spaces and time a little more. i think this is something we should all strive to do with our lives. you don’t have to be a photographer. we live in such a busy world and i believe it really takes away from the peace and opportunities for peace that we were meant to have. i hope everyone of you finds some moments of peace throughout the oncoming week. 😁✌🏼
