#meetyourtpd: officer raashaud harrison, field operations
when raashaud harrison was 21 years old, his father, toledo police officer abe harrison, asked raashaud to take the civil service exam.
his answer was pretty simple: no. two years later, his dad insisted on the test. a little older, a little wiser, and at a different place in life, raashaud agreed.
throughout the hiring process, he began to see why his dad pushed him toward police work. in his five years of service to the city of toledo, he’s grown to love the job.
officer harrison the oldest of seven, was born and raised in toledo and graduated from bowsher high school. he has an associate’s degree in professional law enforcement from owens community college and plans on earning a bachelor’s degree. before joining the department, he worked at pilkington, a glass company.
outside of work, officer harrison considers himself something of a gym addict and movie buff.
we asked officer harrison what his favorite movies are; he likened choosing to “asking a parent who’s their favorite child.” among his favorite flicks are step brothers, friday (all three of them), bad boys 1 and 2, don’t be a menace, and anything featuring denzel washington, dwayne johnson, or jason statham.
while he doesn’t play video games as much anymore, he still “gets down on the sticks” with madden, nba2k, and call of duty. also included in his hobbies: pizza.
“yes, i consider pizza a hobby,” he said. “i absolutely love it.” don’t we all, officer harrison? don’t we all?
officer harrison is fluent in emojis, loves tattoos, traveling, and anything that can make him laugh.
