“to be ourselves causes us to exiled by many others, and yet to comply with what others want causes us to be exiled from ourselves.it’s a tormenting tension...but the choice is clear.”🌏
i bite my cheek and swallow disagreement often to maintain a consistent kindness to others. nice, rather than honest. i find i’m consumed by my smile and at one point all the words i bite back burst forward aggressive, explosive.
it’s so engrained within me i can’t find the source. a moment of honesty results in a heart-pounding rush.
why do we women, always feel this unrealistic urge to uphold too-much over the top kindness? i’m not saying we adhere to cruelty, but why does speaking our minds make us bitchy?
why does revealing our viewpoints make us aggressive or threatening?
confidently kind. honest. truth.
a mountain is bold yet humble.
i’m working on making kindness a strength; not a weakness.
and if you haven’t started reading ‘women who run with wolves’... you should. 💜🌏🍃#girlslovetravel#wildwomen#india#topoftheworld
