don't wait for a specific day to start. start today with a very small change. then repeat tomorrow. and the day after that.

you don't have to change your entire life overnight (nor would i recommend that you do). start by making small daily changes and see them become part of your lifestyle all year round. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
why not try one of these...
- make water your first drink of the day⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- add vegetables to an extra meal daily and build up to eating them at every meal⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- walk on your lunch break (even if it's just 10 minutes!) and start to build up to 10,000 daily steps
- go to bed half an hour earlier
- get to the gym (even if it's just once a week to begin with) - be mindful of the food you're eating and be realistic with yourself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Can I come real for a bit? Its taken me time to find my groove again after the holidays and all the damage I did. Its been different and difficult to drop the weight this time around, but its finally starting to happen &I’m starting to feel GOOD! Some might not want to hear it, but I gotta say it....I know there are moments when we indulge, &its not the end of the world #memoriesovermacros BUT there should be a limit on those moments. We are all at different phases in our journeys. Some of us still have 20-50lbs to lose. Others are in maintenance mode. Whatever it is, please make sure your eating fits the goals you have. &If having a “treat yourself day” is gonna cause u to go down a spiral, dont do it. Its not worth it. You have to mentally prepare for those treat yourself moments. And my advice is to spread them out. Ive been consistent, and Ive been back to tracking ALL my food. &i’m seeing progress. Do what works for YOU. Keto your way, make sure your aligning your actions with your goals. You got this. You can do this. 🔥

2011 ➡️ 2014 ➡️ 2020 🌟 Phew! What a world of difference between each photo. In the first pic on the left I was a freshman in college struggling to make the transition from high school. My meals were basically all cereal + ramen noodles (my parents taught me better I promise, I was just lazy & a bit depressed 😅). I often felt energy crashes and would get really tired mid-practice/game because of my choice in foods. I definitely wasn’t playing my best. The middle picture was at my most restrictive my senior year. I measured and tracked every. single. thing. that entered my mouth (which was mainly just vegetables lololol who tries playing D1 soccer running off broccoli????🤦🏼‍♀️). My endurance was awesome, but I’d get lightheaded easily, constantly felt hungry, experienced brain-fog, and lost my period for a long time. I let food & exercise consume my every thought and inhibit all areas of my life. 😢 On the right is Brookie today!!! Overtime I’ve found BALANCE. I’ve learned that a combo of enough quality carbs, veggies and protein is the magical equation to both athletic performance and a happy, balanced life!! ...One where you can focus on making a difference in the world and becoming a better human and not just how far you need to run to burn off dessert. 😉🙄 what these pictures don’t show is the immense change in my mindset and the ways I’ve learned to love myself. ❤️ I don’t regret any part of my journey because every chapter has shaped me into who I am today. #transformationthursday

Tomorrow marks the start of the reverse, time to start pushing calories back up and fill the lad up! Over the last 6 months we’ve dropped down around 15kg and completely changed the look of his physique. Time to get some eating done and set him up to go again later in the year 🤙🏻

I honestly couldn’t tell you how much ACTUAL weight I’ve lost on Keto, but I know that I see a HUGE difference. I normally would step on the scale once a week, but here lately, it’s more of a “lemme just check” and I’ll do it just for the hell of it. •

I’m not the most consistent Keto-er, but I’m honest with it, I’m a realist. I don’t deprive myself, I ENJOY my brunch, I EATS lol, I love a fresh, hot Chicken Express roll just as much as the next hungry person lol •

I remember the picture on the right, I remember that weekend, I remember how I felt. I had a blast at Homecoming, but I could see and feel that something had to change. •

das problem ist, dass die meisten "standard-diäten" extrem kraftraubend sind. das bedeutet: während der abnahme fordern wir so viel disziplin von unserem körper, dass wir nach der abnahme in alte (entspannte) muster verfallen und wieder zunehmen. ⁣ ⁣

As I've mentioned in previous posts, it is impossible to just 'will' habits out of existence. Most habits you have, you have built up over years and years and created the pathways in your brain that lead a cue to an action to a result. This is almost impossible to stop.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

What you can do though, is change the action in the middle. You can fundamentally change the habit while still allowing your brain to continue functioning the way it has been.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This can actually be very simple. Say that every day in work you get a craving in work to go and buy a chocolate bar. This is not only having you eat a high calorie snack, but also may be taking some money out of your pocket. A simple switch is to pack a healthier snack that can satisfy your craving. In this instance, the cue remains the same, the result of a snack remains the same, but the action in the middle changes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Keto doesn’t have to be expensive. You can definitely make it expensive or totally rock it out on a budget. There are options for everyone.

You don’t NEED a bunch of keto products or supplements( link on my bio)

All you need is real food. Whole foods is the best way to do keto. It will get you the best results and also the least expensive.

Of course clearing out the junk food and replacing it with healthy food might cost a bit more, but even then, you could buy the basics and make it work😉

Let’s say you want to get started and really don’t know what to buy... think simple, healthy and filling

-Eggs
-Chicken thighs or drumsticks
-Pork Chops
-Bacon
-Ground beef
-Spinach, avocado, asparagus, mushrooms,  romaine lettuce,
zucchini, cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussels sprouts
-Butter,olive oil, coconut oil or avocado oil
-Heavy cream or half & half (coffee, tea and sauces)
-Cheese (Taco shells, toppings and snack)
-Sweetener .
If you eliminate all junk and snacks. Make your own food at home. Take lunch vs buy lunch. Make your own coffee vs coffee shop.

Think about how much money you spend eating out (food and drinks), snacks and junk... when you add that up you can make Keto work without thinking about it twice. You’ll spend less money, work towards being healthier and lose weight. That seems like a win win win to me🙌🏼

Let me just say that I am a BIG FAN of eating HEALTHY FOOD (of course😂). However, trying to reach any fitness goal (fat loss/muscle gain) by simple “eating healthy” can be a frustrating journey.. 😩

10 years ago I didn’t know a single thing about calories or macronutrients. Zero. So when I tried to go on a diet, and tried to lose some weight, I would just start “eating healthy”. So I would cut out (what I thought was) unhealthy foods like bread, candy, chocolate etc. And only eat foods labeled as “healthy” (😭)

Guess what? It didn’t work. I didn’t lose any weight. So it was basically what I call a lose-lose situation (opposite of win-win🤪). Because I didn’t get to eat the foods I enjoyed (🍕🍫) and it didn’t even make me lose weight.

Fast forward a few years and I started learning about calories and macros. And the fact that I could fit some chocolate or some ice-cream into my otherwise healthy diet and still lose weight.🤯🤯 because total caloric intake IS the number 1 thing that controls weight-management (Not if the food is “healthy” or “unhealthy”).

So to wrap up this reaaaally long caption (sorry) I want to say that HEALTH matters a lot. But when it comes to losing weight, there has to be an understanding of calories. Because as you can see in the picture there can be a big difference of calories in two foods even though they’re both “healthy” !!

Day 53/66 #gymshark66 - Have been massively enjoying classes recently and I never thought I would. Usually I love training by myself as I never have to rely on anyone to show up, it's my time to myself for myself. But even though my friends told me about classpass at least a year ago it's only now I realise the benefits of also working out in a class environment. .

You have the added pressure of a trainer pushing you and motivating you to achieve your best even when you've given what you think is enough. That sense of failure when you want to quit and see others around you smashing it pushes you even more. And finally that sense of fun as you all go through the pain and yet enjoyment of the class together. I've been loving boxing classes at fit club London and Movin London particularly and can't recommend classes in general enough if you're new to working out but also if like me you need a new challenge and want your body to experience something new and fun. 😁✌🏾 Gonna get back on the @shreddy hype for booty workout tomorrow! 👌🏾💪🏾 @gymshark @gymsharkwomen .
