traveling over night
so because i really wanted to be adventurous i decided to take the overnight train from split (croatia) to zagreb (croatia) and then take a train from there to budapest. well. let's just say that that wasn't one of my best ideas. because croatian trains are old. like really old. and not many people in croatia take the train, as i learned. i had reserved a colchester which turned out to be as old as the rest of the train. and really small. and because they fitted three couchettes on top of each other i couldn't really move after i managed to lay down somehow. i was so glad that i brought my sleeping bag. after maximum four hours of sleep we arrived in zagreb, the croatian capital at 6:30 am. my other train left at 9:50 am so i decided to do at least a little sightseeing in zagreb. when the first cafés opened i hoped to grab a coffee and maybe some breakfast in a lokal shop but none of them would take my card. i decided to still k**l some time sightseeing and made my way to this cute church with this amazing roof top. it's really pretty but i needed a coffee so i gave up and made my way to mcdonald's. normally not where i would go but i knew they would take my card. and they had clean bathrooms! the ones in the train we're bad. like really bad.
so i freshened up -finally!- and then went back to the train station to catch the next train. and that part is definitely a story for itself! #travelreality
but don't get me wrong, i totally do love traveling! this is just one little part of it 😊
congratulations if you red it all 😀 and drop a "🙋" in the comments if you did! i'm curious 😜 and if you want to share a story about #travelreality
feel free to tell us in the comments! traveling definitely isn't always glorious. .
