A broken heart does not mean that we, ourselves, are broken. in contrary, it means quite the opposite. the hurt. the discomfort. the pain— it’s purpose should be used as another gateway for us to connect to the shadows of our souls. by walking through it, we grant ourselves the opportunity to seek liberation not from any kind of external source, but merely from within.
though, no one can save us from ourselves, no one has the power to completely destroy us either. but it is us who holds the power in our own hands to choose which path to embrace after the shadows are once broken open and revealed.
so do we choose— choose to block our hearts from completely feeling love in order to protect us? when really all we are doing is causing ourselves more harm. or do we put down the armor and receive the gift of visual perception? diving deep into the shadows of our hearts that remain blocked and afraid and do the hard work to release old wounds so new love can be found within ourselves and given to others?
a path of self-imprisonment through heartache or one towards liberation through love, which will you choose?
