often, choosing the salad, or smoothie can be healthier in many regards. it's just also great to be mindful that sometimes, the salad or the smoothie option may have sneaky added ingredients or in this case, be more in calories and higher in fat.

at the end of the day, to lose weight or gain weight, your body needs a calorie deficit or surplus, so along with making the "healthier choices", being mindful of calories & macros could really help too.

Was Leg day today! I finally used my ankle straps too. Did some cable hip abducters 🙌🏼 which I really liked and I know I'm gunner be sore. Still nervous to try the hip thrust machine but I may try it tomorrow when I go with my gym buddy 😅 meal prepping tomorrow as back to work 😩 but happy to get back into my routine and eating good food.

This 'gain' does not deter me in the slightest, i'm moving forward, eating a little less keto rocky road this week 😉, keeping up my water intake and finding 30 minutes of exercise each day!

I feel less bloated, my clothes fit SO much nicer and i'm not really missing sugar/carb loaded foods as much as I thought I would 🙌🏻

Zucchini Tots! 
Makes 4 servings

Ingredients:
2 cups grated zucchini
1/2 cup sliced green onions
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese...
2 eggs
1/2 cup cheddar cheese (low fat)
1 teaspoon Fresh garlic
¼ tsp Salt
¼ tsp pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F. **Works GREAT in an Air Fryer too***
Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
Grate the zucchini into a clean dish towel until you have 2 packed cups. Wring all of the excess water out of the zucchini, there will be a lot of water. In a medium bowl, combine all of the ingredients and season with salt and pepper.

Spoon 1 tablespoon of mixture in your hands and roll into small ovals. Place on the cookie sheet and bake at 400 for 16 to 18 minutes, turning halfway though cooking until golden.

Per serving: ¾ ounce protein, 1 ¼ vegetable serving, 2 1/2 condiments

Another 1.3kgs gone, for a total loss of 32kgs / 70lbs. Had a check up with my surgical team yesterday, they’re pleased with my progress, my iron levels are super super and I now have to take a supplement for that and I have other answers to questions I’ve had for so long that we’re always just passed off as “you’re fat that’s why” that need to be followed up with my GP after this last lot of tests.

I caught myself deep in thought today. I truly feel the best thing I ever did for myself was start digging deep and asking myself why I am the way that I am. 
It takes a lot of work and intentionality but getting to know yourself on a deeper level will help you thrive. 
I still have to remind myself daily that I am, as we all are, created for a glorious destiny. We should not hide what is meant to be seen. We should not shrink back because we are unique, and different from others. 
Don’t let fear of man, fear of rejection or fear of anything keep you from fulfilling what God has prepared for you. Just keep doing your thing with as much love and integrity as possible because we are all meant to shine!

Over the last 15 years, professionals in human physiology have learned that f*t (adipose tissue) is not a passive energy supply bank. what we used to believe was just a storage device for when caloric intake exceeded expenditure, and a survival mechanism that releases fatty acids into circulation when caloric intake cannot sustain expenditure, we now know plays a much more complex role on our metabolism via endocrine, paracrine and autocrine mechanisms.

we discovered a hormone called "leptin" in the mid 1990's. this is the hormone that tells you you're satiated. the more leptin that is released, the more full you feel. leptin is secreted by the cells of adipose tissue (adipocytes). naturally, you'd think the more f*t you had, the more leptin you would release, and this is actually true. as f*t mass increases, so does leptin secretion. however, the fatter we get, the more another molecule gets produced, and this molecule actually blocks letpin's signal to the hypothalamus (location of body's "feeding centers"). this creates what we now call "leptin resistance".

adiponectin is another hormone secreted by f*t cells. this hormone reduces risk of cardiovascular disease and increases insulin sensitivity and the oxidation of fatty acids in muscle tissue. conversely to leptin, as f*t mass increases, adiponectin secretion actually decreases. since leptin also promotes improved insulin sensitivity and fatty acid oxidation, you can see why insulin sensitivity would decline leading to insulin resistance (type-2 diabetes). -

again as f*t mass increases, adipocytes produce proinflammatory cytokines. this is why obesity is now recognized as a chronic state of low-grade inflammation. not only is the excessive weight stressing the musculoskeletal system by gravity alone, but the f*t tissue itself emits a steady stream of inflammatory substances.

Truly knowing that with all that life brings we are our biggest critic is hard to swallow. I didn’t realize how truly loved I am by Christ just the way he made me. I have spent years picking myself apart wishing I was more like someone else, parented like someone else, or just all around woke up a different person. I’ve judged myself for years and it wasn’t until just recently I woke up and thought, God made me beautiful! How lucky am I to have a lifeguard always on duty working for me. I have always known god to answer my prayers but when you start praying for more self love and understanding be ready ! He is the ultimate let me tell you. I feel radiant and glowing and finally feel I can continue giving back to so many woman who are struggling to see the same beauty in themselves. I can’t help everyone see it, and I know some people who have put their feelings about themselves and spoke low of others. But that’s okay, gods got you and when your ready he will heal your heart and show you just how wonderfully made you are. From the weight I’ve gained from birthing 3 kids, not thinking I’m doing enough as a mother, judging myself because I’ve been thru divorce and remarried before 30, to hiding my curls because I was insecure , or the new one “people thinking I’m hiding behind makeup” I can truthfully say no I am 100% confident and loved by the most high in all circumstances and accepted as I am, AND SO ARE YOU🖤

Headed in for some therapy. This morning when I woke up I felt like I was  moving through molasses. My amazing husband and let me sleep in. I woke up at 7:30 and I went and had water with apple cider vinegar, lemon and some Himalayan salt. I took my anti-histamine in my decongestant because I has the number one complaint of sinus bullshit at baseline.

I helped to get the kids ready for the rest of the morning rush.  I got a notification on my phone saying it was time to invite fast. But, if I really wanted to get out into the woods to get me some personal therapy and get a little bit of a slow burn session going on to take a vantage of the end of this Beautiful metabolic situation that my house has gotten me into.

At the headway of the trails I feel like I could sprint. I’m going to start walking and if I feel like running I will. That’s one thing I love about trails, sometimes it’s just so beautiful it gives you this overwhelming rush of euphoria that makes you want to run.

I look at the nature and I hear the birds and I smell the dirt. Today there is a stronger send in the air because it has rained recently. There’s dew on everything. The sun is shining and in between trees it is kissing my skin.

I am so grateful and blessed to be alive. I’m so grateful and blessed to be surrounded by so many amazing people. I’m so grateful and blessed to have this forum to outlet my passions and thoughts.

Thank you to anyone who is here tuning into my consciousness. Thank you to anyone who is in tune with raising their own, which in turn raises the consciousness of the whole world.

Thank you to my sore tight hamstrings and I’m about to warm up and stretch out.
