It's okay to not be okay.
time for some mental awareness.
we all have days, weeks, years that bring us down like a crooked rocket. it's normal.
what it isn't okay is having day after day after day the inability to feel joy. because we all need to feel hope or joy to make us rise up after every fall. because every single one of us experiences falls.
depression doesn't need to look like it does on cartoons. there are a lot of depressed people that try to overcome their demons every morning, and having the courage to leave their bed is nothing short from true bravery.
to help others we sometimes need to look inside ourselves and try and feel the pain of always hearing stuff like - you are depressed because you want to.
not a single soul in the world wants to be depressed. but some of us make it through and others don't do it as easily.
start helping by asking - are you okay? and truly listening to the answer. sometimes a yes is a no. try to understand and help the person overcome his/her sadness and check in from time to time - are you better? do you wanna go for a walk?
depression is silent, so break it and start the noise of help.
my question for all of you is - are you okay?
