bees don’t need measuring tape, they just hold hands. this is how they measure empty space before building it with wax.⚡️just one of the many ways they work together to accomplish big important tasks. we can do the same. hold hands in two missions that can help save bees, and more:
buy the “ugly” fruit and vegetables (they can still have great flavor/texture). why? because our demand for perfection is what has led to the extreme over-use of pesticides and herbicides that’s so harmful to critical pollinators and our planet. yes, you and i — the consumers who buy only the biggest and most perfect apple. we force farmers to throw the less imperfect away - which drives the use herbicides and pesticides to grow the most consistent produce. (curious how this happens? see @pollinatorsfilm
). the good news? if we’re to blame, we can also change this. 💪
you know who makes your car, your phone, and you know your kid’s doctor, teacher... know the farm that grows the food you put in your mouth. meet the farmer. thank them for doing possibly the most important job, know what they grow, ask them to plant more flowers, and to stop using pesticides/herbicides.
two small things.
the bees are counting on you. 🐝
