Some of the high school students in our keepers program, a compassionate alternative to ffa/4h, learned about foot care today and helped to give huckleberry, sunshine, finnegan, forrest, and barnaby pedicures! they also showed some junior high students the ropes, mucked stalls, filled sandbags, and hung out with the special needs birds. these guys are awesome!
Benjamin took a road trip down to the medical center for birds in the bay area today to get his sore toe looked at. he has chronic bumblefoot in his middle left toe and has already had one debriding surgery to clean it out, to no avail. today he saw a doctor who is going to try him on some different meds and foot baths twice a day. to sponsor ben, you can set up a monthly gift and be his adopted mom or dad at blackberrycreek.org/monthly-sponsorship
Our goal for 2019 is to have all of our feed, routine veterinary/medication expenses, and overhead costs covered by monthly donors! those supporters are critical so that we can predict how many animals we can continue to rescue, use proceeds from events for educational outreach and programs, and plan for the future of the sanctuary. you’d be surprised how even $$5/month can add up when supporters join together to help rescued animalsnlove happy, healthy lives! please consider setting up an automatic monthly gift today to help us reach our goal!
