evening was about to set in a few hours, sun was displaying its hue in the sky. suddenly i remembered that i haven't booked any hotel room till then. even though the hotels in pushkar is quite reasonable during this time it becomes impossible to get a hotel even at a higher price. i rushed out of the mela in search of a hotel and my friend suggested that there is a friend's resort where we can go. so, we reached his resort. i was quite lucky that i got a room in that resort.
beautiful would be an under statement for a resort of that kind. the resort was surrounded with a lake and the entire environment around was a visual delight. my friend (owner of the resort) welcomed us with mocktails and guided us to our room. i thought to rest for an hour or so and later head towards the mela in the evening. most of the photographers love two time of the day, either it is morning or evening.
i was so tired that initially i wasn't able to sleep. i have a bad habit of listening to satyajit ray's story on sunday suspense 98.3 fm(a series of bengali suspense in youtube.while listening to the story on headphones, i didn't realised when i just dozed off. suddenly i woke up and it was 5:30. i immediately caught hold of my camera and started walking briskly towards the pushkar mela.
the place was over crowded (there were more photographers than camels) and i walked towards the desert. there i came across a group of banjaras(nomads) who were sitting near a bon fire. i went to them and requested them for a few photographs to which they replied, "ji zaroor." among them there was a little girl of around 12 years who asked me to click her pictures and posed for me. i clicked a few of her pictures. as i turned off my camera and looked around. all i could see was so many photographers clicking her pictures.
bidding them aideu, i left that place for my hotel to take rest after a long hectic day.
enjoy the picture and please comment, friends.
