A teeny little sea foam canvas ✨if you saw my stories from last week you may have seen me building up the different layers that go into these ocean paintings ✨

I don’t think you usually find roses towering above the sea, but I’m enjoying this combination at home at the moment ✨

Here’s a close up of the big commission I shared the other day - such a beautiful view to paint!

Painted this little diptych the other day - I’m really enjoying experimenting with how elements of the paintings escape from their painted boxes! Also what do you think about vintage vs contemporary frames? I think I’m going to try and use more of both styles from now on...

This is one of the largest and most detailed commissions I’ve done so far! The boats were particularly fiddly but it was very satisfying seeing it come together over about a month of painting ✨

I’m looking forward to a few full (tea-fuelled) days of painting coming up! I’m already starting to get booked up for Christmas present commissions which both amazes me that people are so organised, and makes me very happy that people are thinking of my paintings for their presents! ✨

Being self-employed is wonderful but it can get a little lonely, and that’s not ideal for creativity - in my case anyway. These lovely people are both artists as well and the other evening we got together for a lot of food, wine and art planning! I’ve known @emmadutton26 since living in the same uni halls flat quite a few years ago (causing much confusion with our names). We met @sarahnicole_studio only recently when we were exhibiting together but we were saying the other day how it feels like we’ve been friends for years. We’re planning on holding an exhibition together in the next few months and it’s all very exciting ✨

The painting within this vintage frame is about 5cm wide and the wave crashes over the edge of the painted box, spilling into the boarder. These round frames come with convex glass which is a bit quirky (but they also makes them tricky to photograph which is why you don’t often see them on here) 💙

Thank you so much to everyone who entered my giveaway earlier in the week! When I teach @brushandbubbles classes I take everyone through a painting step-by-step. This means that I end up with a few of each... Lovely Tiff from B&B suggested a little giveaway for my ‘View of London from Primrose Hill’ paintings from this Sunday’s classes! So... The winners (as selected by the random name generator) are @beccarodney and @emmastaples24 - congratulations!! I’ll pop you both a message 💛💛💛

✨giveaway✨ I taught this ‘View of London from Primrose Hill’ painting at two @brushandbubbles classes today! As a result I now have three similar versions of the same painting and it’d be lovely if two people were able to give two of them a better home than my art cupboard... If you’d like one of them then simply tag a friend in the comments. Follow @brushandbubbles for an additional entry. I’ll announce the winners later in the week! (Paintings are 40x50cm. All you’d have to pay for is the postage - or you can pick them up if you’re in London)💙

I always seem to be matching with my art because most of my paintings and most of my clothes are blue... (Things you don’t see in this photo: the sofa in the middle of the room because I moved it in order to stand in front of this nice white wall, Josh balancing on said sofa taking the photo, and the hoover out because the floor under where the sofa had been was rather alarming - everything’s always a bit more chaotic outside of these squares!)
