Meet harper watters (@theharperwatters
). he’s a professional dancer and advocate for the lgbtq community who is using his platform to stand up to bullies — often, in a great pair of heels.
“i am a professional soloist classical ballet dancer who is african-american and queer, dancing in texas, and i’m doing it really well,” says harper. “and to the bullies who said i was feminine, you’re right! i embrace my feminine side. i embrace my masculine side. i embrace everything that makes me harper.”
for national bullying prevention month, we partnered with teen vogue (@teenvogue
) to share stories and support amazing #advocates
who are taking a stand against bullying and making a positive global impact. we’re sharing harper’s story on #spiritday, an annual day of awareness dedicated to standing with lgbtq youth who disproportionately face bullying and harassment because of their identities. learn more about harper’s story on igtv now.
