this car is totally underrated.
in photos it’s fine, in real life though it’s stunning. how wide it is, the aerodynamic design, the air extractors inside the brake lights, every angle of the car is engineered to be as fast as possible.
and it is. incredibly fast on the road. haven’t tracked it yet but it is unbelievable how easily it can go fast on mountain roads.
from the first minutes driving it you feel like you have been driving it forever. it’s so reactive and when you turn in its already time to realign the wheel as you are already exiting the turn.
the power is very progressive, you don’t notice any turbo lag.
braking hard, i’ve never felt the abs, never! on mountain tarmac and those speed with semislicks it’s normal for the abs to kick in, this doesn’t. no weight transfer at all! the more you push, the more it grips and sticks to the line. suspensions? it doesn’t roll at all, and they don’t feel stiff, it’s very comfortable, but the car doesn’t move from where you want it to go. never touched the underneath and never jumped from a lane to the other on the bumps. it was so wow that after the first serious drive i had to go back home, get the 991 gt2rs and drive it on the same roads. well, my beloved porsche was sluggish, heavy, a gt2rs heavy!!! a lot of weight transfer very hard suspension and the abs kicking in.
that day i was impressed, i spoke the whole evening about it, to everyone! to my 2 yo daughter as well!!!
i haven’t tracked it so i can’t say if the ford is as fast as on mountain roads. i’ve read a few articles with lap times and the ford is not as fast as the porsche but on a mountain and narrow road i can say that the feeling, the sensations, the agility and the brakes, make the ford win and it makes you never want to stop driving it... ..but you have to do it way too often to refuel!
