Good morning, beautifuls!
i always love it (and seriously blush!) when a stranger stops me to say that they follow me on facebook. yesterday, a kind stranger stopped me in the store to tell me how much she loves my work and how she can always tell if it's my photo before looking at who posted it.
when i was rebranding in 2016, the thing i had to do first was know exactly what my style was going to be. i wanted to stand out in the plethora of photographers.
if you google style of photographers you'll be hit with a list of of different styles. even the most recent issue of ea bride magazine categorizes the different styles.
earlier this week, i asked my husband which style he thought i was. my husband is not artsy. he is into manual labor and mechanics. he truly doesn't have an eye for this. . .
yet, he told me exactly what i wanted to hear. "i would say that if you could put these three styles together and mash them up, that would be your style." although he knows i am definitely not a dark & moody or desaturated photographer, he pointed to three others. he said that my photos are light and airy in feel, bright and classic in color and my skin tones are luminous like in film. hearing that from someone who hasn't really thought twice about it except for the fact that it's my work, confirmed what i worked so hard to accomplish, just made me smile.
i don't want to be just a stereotypical, characterized wedding photographer. i want to be your wedding photographer. i want to bring your photos to life, making them one of a kind, unique to your love story.
i want my photos to invite people into the fairytale of my clients' love stories.
so if i had to describe my style, i would say that it is dreamy, full of light, warmth, romance and happiness.
that's how i chose to add romantic storytelling wedding photographer after my name. it's the best way to sum up that i want my photos to look like they come straight from a fairytale.
happy tuesday, loves!
