To the man who catches me when I fall.
To the man who opens the doors for me.

To the man that walks on the outside of the sidewalk.

To the man whose hands are calloused because they work hard to provide for us.
To the man who became an amazing dad.

To the man that makes me feel special.
To the man that doesn't see the flaws I see.
To the man that loves me more and more each day . . .
To the man who is my real life prince charming. ❤
I love you, Casey.

Good morning, beautifuls!

I always love it (and seriously blush!) when a stranger stops me to say that they follow me on Facebook. Yesterday, a kind stranger stopped me in the store to tell me how much she loves my work and how she can always tell if it's my photo before looking at who posted it.
When I was rebranding in 2016, the thing I had to do first was know exactly what my style was going to be. I wanted to stand out in the plethora of photographers.
If you Google style of photographers you'll be hit with a list of of different styles. Even the most recent issue of EA Bride magazine categorizes the different styles.
Earlier this week, I asked my husband which style he thought I was. My husband is not artsy. He is into manual labor and mechanics. He truly doesn't have an eye for this. . .
Yet, he told me exactly what I wanted to hear.

earlier this week, i asked my husband which style he thought i was. my husband is not artsy. he is into manual labor and mechanics. he truly doesn't have an eye for this. . .
yet, he told me exactly what i wanted to hear. "i would say that if you could put these three styles together and mash them up, that would be your style." although he knows i am definitely not a dark & moody or desaturated photographer, he pointed to three others. he said that my photos are light and airy in feel, bright and classic in color and my skin tones are luminous like in film. hearing that from someone who hasn't really thought twice about it except for the fact that it's my work, confirmed what i worked so hard to accomplish, just made me smile.
i don't want to be just a stereotypical, characterized wedding photographer. i want to be your wedding photographer. i want to bring your photos to life, making them one of a kind, unique to your love story.
i want my photos to invite people into the fairytale of my clients' love stories.

so if i had to describe my style, i would say that it is dreamy, full of light, warmth, romance and happiness.
that's how i chose to add romantic storytelling wedding photographer after my name. it's the best way to sum up that i want my photos to look like they come straight from a fairytale.
happy tuesday, loves!

There is something so romantic when a groom pulls his bride in gently.
I love intimate moments like this. It's authentic and timeless black & white makes it absolutely dreamy.
I provide all of my couples with some classic black & whites because nothing tells a love story better.
Years from now, your grandchildren will ask if they can see your wedding photos. As you flip through your first family heirloom (your wedding album), a black and white image will catch their eye. You'll smile and pull them in close as you reminisce on the day your happily, ever after began.
Happy Monday, loves!

Are you rocking your lucky leprechaun colors today? Green is my youngest's (Hazel) favorite color.
Who says your color palette has to be traditional? Break barriers with your favorite colors and rock your individuality.
After all, girls just wanna have fun. ☘️ Happy St Patrick's Day, beautifuls!

There is always one child at a wedding that will come up to me and tell me how he/she wants to be a photographer when they grow up. They even shadow me as much as they can.
It's so darn cute!

Also, I'm a total sucker for an adorable bride & flower girl shot. Especially when they match. Oh, my heart! <3

Nothing warms my heart more than a happy couple in the middle of a flower garden.
Even though this is an engagement session, it's really important to find the perfect venue to tell your love story.
A lot of my brides have reached out to me the past couple of weeks asking which venues I recommend for the vision they have. (Most of my 2020 brides do not have venues chosen yet). So many venues are dark and indoors in the area, that I know it can be hard to find picturesque spots that truly warm your heart and soul.
Gardens, vineyards, ranches and private backyard weddings are perfect for the months of late April, May, early June, September and October. You want to choose indoor ceremony locations in July & August because it gets very hot and I've seen many bridesmaids and guests pass out.
You can have a gorgeous backyard ceremony & reception with a little help from fresh florals and outdoor lighting. White tents or clear walled tents are a perfect option for a dance floor or back up plan if it starts to rain while still giving a natural light effect.
Check out the comments for tags of my fave locations for weddings and a link to a tropical backyard wedding to give you tons of inspiration. <3

I look at this photo and see so many things about myself that I honestly hadn’t seen before. I see a woman who isn’t afraid of being herself. Who isn’t scared of what others think. Someone that loves life, is ok being completely silly and is happy.

When I was 17, I found out I was pregnant and going through such life changing events at such a young age really impacts a person. I grew up so quickly. I went from being a freshman in college to an expecting wife by the time I turned 18.
I had my life planned out for years but then everything changed. My hormones changed and gave me adult acne. I gained 65 pounds and my hair was falling out. I’d fall asleep anywhere and everywhere. I went from feeling like the most beautiful girl in the world and striding in confidence to someone who was embarrassed and awkward in her own skin. But this photo, 9 years later, shows me the person I was before I lost that confidence. I’m still struggling with my weight and lovely adult acne but I finally feel at a place that allows me to be joyful about being me. I still have work to do in helping my health and the way I look at myself in the mirror but I am so thankful to see that side of me again. 😍

P.S. my 9 year old is my personal photographer 😍
