On this day in 2001 we awoke to some of the most horrific moments in american history. terror. pure terror. that was the goal of our attackers. they expected to bring an entire nation to its knees with one tragic moment. and it worked..... but only for a split second did an entire nation all fell to their knees at once.
you see we didn't fall to our knees in defeat..... we fell in prayer.
then just as quickly as we dropped we rose in unity. men, women, citizens, foreigners, white, black, brown, purple, blue, red, police, fire, military, brokers, lawyers, doctors, nurses, garbage men, postal workers, construction workers, all races, all backgrounds...... billions rose together hand in hand physically and spiritually digging the rubble back.
we stood for each other. through the darkest moments in our history we shined bright. not because of politics, religion, race, or s****l preference. we shined because of the most simplistic and important of all human tendencies..... caring.
so, i urge you to first take a moment of silence today for all those innocent and brave lives lost on 9/11. then i want you to look upon your life and our country through the tears of tragedy and remember the inspiration of humanity shown on 9/11..... because we could use a little more of that humanity in our world right now. #neverforget
