India has never shown the real side of kashmir in their media. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
in addition to showcasing inaccurate facts about kashmir in indian news, india is the world’s leader in internet shut downs, as stated by @foreignpolicymag
(almost all shutdowns only took place in kashmir). since 2016, india has shut down the internet 176 times there; this means that no media goes out and none comes in. no local kashmiri news sources are updated as india has a tight grip on media there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
since india stripped kashmir from their autonomy on august 5, 2019, all media, internet, communication, transportation, food supplies, and medical supplies have been cut off indefinitely. local indian news channels and newspapers portray kashmir as “safe” and claim that kashmiris are happy with india’s decision to forcibly revoke article 370. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
