Streets of India
Beyond the ideas of the world, the cold rugged mountains stand tall and await travelers who look at them, not through viewfinders and screens but experience their presence with their soul. The land of High passes as its called - Ladakh is one of the natures numerous wonders. City dwellers like us are at awe when we see what lies beyond the concrete jungle. One of these days, when you step out of your comfort zone, make sure you have something worthwhile to gaze at.
Here’s the expedition we’ve all been waiting for. A journey to the land of high passes. We at Streets of India have always been passionate about travel and doing it the right way. But the soft spot for us is Ladakh. We know the mountains like the back of our hand. So we’ve chalked out an experience for those of us who see the world a little differently than the rest.

#UnstereotypingTheSouth
Travelling to the South end of India has always been a delight. Despite the communication barriers, the warmth I have received has always been welcoming. I stepped beyond the known and as much as I adore them, I left behind coconuts, idli-sambar and filter coffee to dwell beyond it and discover the true raw nature of God's own country.
As I travelled on, I kept falling in love with everything and everyone. The delicious food that followed idli and dosa blew my mind away. The flavour combinations were something I would have never imagined. I tried a lesser known dish called Kadala that is the Kerala version of chole and it may have spoiled chole for me. Isn't that the best & worst part of travel? It spoils you by choice!
In this picture we see the beauty of South Indian hills, that you see during the train journeys. The visual beauty is not just limited to the backwaters and the boats. The hill stations are purely breath taking as well. It is an experience in itself to travel via land transports, soaking in all the beauty that south of our country is to offer which is so limited in our heads.

During this trip I got to know that I was always wrong about south India. Not everything is cooked in coconut oil (Ghee roast. Period) and not everything is sour. The spice and sweet flavour palates are equally dominant and its rather unfortunate that general opinion and stereotypes take over what the reality is. But if you and I put our hearts together to learn about the dynamics of our own country, we will truly unearth treasures.
This is where I support LF and Chef @therakeshraghunathan for breaking stereotypes around south India. Experience unstereotyped south Indian taste tales and traditions with Dakshin Diaries on @Livingfoodz every Thursday and Friday at 8.30 PM.

⚠WARNING GRAPHIC IMAGES ⚠There’s something much bigger happening in our world than I ever would have imagined. The things I’ve learned and seen with my own eyes these past few months have been heartbreaking and I can’t turn a blind eye to it! Our coral reefs are one of our life support systems. They are just as important as the trees on land, and they are dying at an unprecedented rate. Roughly half of the world’s reefs have recently died and ALL are expected to die by 2050, and on top of that we are killing marine life at a faster pace than at any other time in the history of the world. WE MUST change this or else our oceans and all marine life will go extinct in our lifetimes or our children’s lifetimes. And that’s when the real consequences will set in as reefs are essential for marine life and marine life is responsible for the majority of the oxygen we need to breathe in order to survive...that’s right, if the oceans die, then we as a human species suffer. Not to mention over 1 billion people rely on the reefs for food. Please raise awareness to your friends and family and get people talking about this issue! @savethereef 🎥 @coralgardeners @perrinjames1 @silkymerman @reefhunter @anthonykdo @drdeanmiller
