There are people who are convinced that the universe was created for them (they are not always the most pleasant people). surprisingly, however, i personally think they are right. but this is true for everyone and everything in it. so also for you. this is true, no matter if we are convinced that the universe was created by chance and that everything has to be coincidence, or on the contrary everything is determined, whether we believe in a higher power behind all this or not. the fact that we are here and that we are who we are is a miracle, at least from our perspective. we just somehow forgot. • • •
unfortunately, this also applies to everything that goes badly in the world: our possibly unpleasant everyday life, the climate change, the plastic vortex in the sea, the threat to democracy by populist and authoritarian forces, the extinction of species, hunger, the omnipresent, all-pervading inequality of all kinds, war and hatred. every day about 15000 children under the age of five die. according to serious sources we must assume that half of them simply die of hunger. as you read this text, about 50 children die, but they also die if you don't read the text. all this is not self-evident, it's not a law that it has to be this way, and yet a large part of humanity lives as if this could not be changed, both those who are victims of these catastrophes and those who watch it. that's strange when you think about what people achieve day after day and what extraordinary things we are capable to do.
